Things happen

Arya is somewhat overawed by the arrival of the air ambulance.
This weekend saw the resumption of Tumble Tots, and would have seen the resumption of Water Babies, but we were all far too knackered and ill to drag ourselves out on Sunday morning. Still, Tumble Tots was good fun, as ever.

We watched Room on the Broom and The Gruffalo. A lot. We also watched Cinderella - Mum's choice - and Frozen Fever, as well as a couple of viewings of Frozen. This sort of high volume, child-led film watching is a sure sign that we were exhausted, as we try very hard to be better, and we did take Arya to the park later on Sunday morning, although that was interrupted by the arrival of an air ambulance, which landed in the park about fifty yards from us and spooked Arya rather. It fascinated the rest of Littleport, who were hoping that the pilot might be Prince William (many of my fellow residents were convinced that one of the crew standing by the helicopter was William's personal detective, although the case for him being a bodyguard was somewhat harmed by the fact that he had his hands in his pockets the whole time. I don't think that's how bodyguards roll) and Hanna, who wanted to see the set up inside an air ambulance.

Arya is getting really good at using the potty, and as such was promised a treat on Saturday. She was keen for ice cream when we were shopping, so when I got back from fetching rice noodles I was greeted by a delighted 'Daddy Luke!'

Oh; I thought. She's pleased to see me. That's so swee...

'Look I got!' Waves box of Magnums.

Well... fine. It is still adorable watching her work through an ice cream that is fundamentally bigger than her head.

But the helicopter (or as she initially identified it, rocket) was the highlight of the weekend, eliciting equal parts fear and fascination.
